In this age of technology, it is essential for architects to be able to provide high quality visuals to clients and viewers in order to provide a clear idea of what is to be built. Luckily, now we can find specialized firms in aiding this process. One of the pioneering firms in this specialty is PIXEL visualization, Herskhazeen spoke to the founder of PIXEL visualization – Rasem Kamal, a Designer at Oppenheim Architecture in Miami, USA – about the 3D rendering studio and the role of visualization within architecture.
Private Residence (Dead Sea, Jordan. Architect: Symbiosis Designs Ltd)
PIXEL visualization is a rendering studio that works in conjunction with architects to visualize their vision and help explain how a project will manifest, function and interact with its context. These visualizations can be geared toward clients, competitions or used as material for fundraising. Kamal founded PIXEL visualization in 2012; with the ultimate aim of providing customized high quality 3D renders that channel refined architectural photography. The company began as a reaction to the local 3D render scene which became saturated with mundane low quality renders of any given project.
Kamal began working with local offices in Jordan and the region, however, his talent shortly reached international recognition when he was approached by respected architectural offices such as SA+Associates, OAD and LOCI Architecture + Design. His recent work includes the new terminal of Denver Airport in Colorado in addition to high-end residences in the Middle East amongst other esteemed projects, in which PIXEL visualization provided sophisticated and refined visualizations that project virtual reality of architecture, interior, landscape, details and atmosphere.
PIXEL visualization uses customized visual approaches that stem from the architecture itself to complement and enhance its language. The approach is not only visual it is also conceptual which focuses on understanding the central notion of a space and then think about the best way to bring it to life. This process can imply photo-realistic renders, artistic themes, and 3D technological and constructional refinement.
